General warning to anyone with a uterus [Feb. 16th, 2005|04:33 pm]

[Current Mood |ouch]

If your girlie doctor says you need a colposcopy to investigate pre-cancerous-looking cells on your cervix, ask for a local when you get it done.

If the colposcopy results indicate that you do indeed have precancerous cells and therefore need a cryo, ask for a morphine drip.

And after both of these procedures, stock up on Advil or Aleve and a few heating pads for when Aunt Flow next rears her ugly head--you'll need them more than you ever needed them before.

Bastards.

ouch indeed

But you're ok now, right? All cancer-related issues cleared up?

Re: ouch indeed

Yup. No more precancerous cells...almost. Still dealing with the after-effects that they said would only last a few days (this being day 12 or so). Of course, they also said it wouldn't hurt much, and I ended up crying in my car for an hour after it was done, and then had to call Jerry to come get me 'cause there was no way I could uncurl long enough to drive home. Fun. But it's over, and that's the main thing.

1. I'm so sorry you had to deal with something so icky and painful. Do you need anything?

2. I'm sorry I never called back about Ambrosius. I just...still...have trouble talking about my boy.

I'm so glad you replied. I was starting to feel like I'd stepped on toes or something. But I completely understand.

As to needing anything, well, a job would be nice. Barring that, a phone call (about anything) would more than suffice.

:)
